The Features You’ll Love

Here’s some pretty cool stuff that just might make you want to build your website with us!

UBC Common Look & Feel compatible theme

The UBC CLF (Common Look and Feel) theme co-developed by the CTLT, ArtsISIT, and Communications & Marketing, unleashes a whole new level of customization for site builders. You now have the ability to modify information and colours in the CLF header, select site-wide fonts and colours, change page layouts, add in a slideshow on the homepage, change the style of your dropdown navigation and much more with a few mere clicks of a button!!

Map your site to a custom domain

We allow you to use a custom domain name such as myunit.ubc.ca instead of the standard Sites WordPress domain name of: myunit.sites.olt.ubc.ca for your site.

Sites are integrated with CWL

Your site will be hooked up to UBC’s CWL ensuring a high level of security on your site as well as you being able to invite any UBC student, staff or faculty with a valid CWL.

Integrated Google Search and Analytics, SEO optimization, automated backups, failovers and much more!

Those details that mean the world to you are on our must list as well. Part of the UBC CLF is the integrated Google Search that allows you to search your website and all associated websites. We also provide plugins for Google Analytics and SEO optimization (and not to mention that WordPress is already amazing in these regards).

WordPress also now comes with version control by default, and our overall framework is part of UBC’s high availability networks with state of the art scaling capabilities, automated backups, failovers and other network features.

Style your site with CSS

You want your site to look exactly how you want it to look. So do we. Using CSS, you can style your site and have everything look exactly how you want it. There are tons of CSS examples on the web for reference and if you can’t figure something out, feel free to contact us.

Redirects? We’ve got you covered.

Track 301 redirections, 404 errors and other loose ends. Great for migration and changes to directory structure.

A great tool for building forms

It’s super easy to build forms from scratch and have the desired information of submitted forms emailed to you directly. In addition to this, all information of submitted forms is tracked and displayed nicely right in WordPress, ready to be downloaded to your computer as an XML file.
